Christmas Shipping Deadlines
With a handful of days less this year between Thanksgiving and Christmas, it’s now extremely important to get those packages and holiday cards into the mail so they get to loved ones in time for Christmas Day.
The United States Postal Service says that December 20th this year is the final day you can ship First Class to get letters in time for Christmas excluding Hawaii and Alaska, which both have a December 18th deadline.
If you choose to pay a bit more money, USPS Priority Express can get your stuff to the destination if shipped as late as December 23. First Class service for other parts of the world through USPS including Europe and Asia is December 7th.
FedEX has similar dates for deadlines, except they do have a “Same Day City Direct” service that can actually ship on Christmas Day.
But be advised: the best way to get cards and packages by Christmas is to get them out as early as possible to avoid any unseen circumstances or problems.
