21 Savage Hints At New Album With Flags In Atlanta
New music from 21 Savage might be coming our way. In a post shared by blogger DJ Akademiks, there were banners posted around with an American flag that had specific clues it belonged to the rapper. 21’s flag had a different coloration than the original flag; it also had 21 stars as opposed to 50, and photos of 21 Savage are on the flag. The flag was seen in streets around his home city of Atlanta.
“21 in album mode,” one fan said in the comments.
“Bro wants to be american so bad lmao,” another fan said, referencing his U.K. roots.
Another fan compared 21’s promotion to Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape cover, which has an American flag on it, “Bro really want to be Uzi.”
21 Savage’s last full-length solo album was his 2018 I Am > I Was. He previously collaborated with Metro Boomin for Savage Mode 2 in 2020. His last album was the Grammy-nominated Her Loss with Drake. The two embarked on the It’s All A Blur Tour this year to accompany the album.
21 Savage Debunks Diss Line About Megan Thee Stallion From Her Loss
21 recently cleared up some negativity aimed at Drake over his Megan Thee Stallion line in “Circo Loco.” The song is the ninth track on Her Loss. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, 21 spoke up about Drake’s line that brought up the 2020 shooting involving Lanez. At the time, Megan herself was also frustrated at the lyric, which 21 claimed was not Drizzy’s goal.
“This bitch lie about getting shots, but she still a stallion/ She don’t even get the joke, but she still smiling,” Drake raps on “Circo Loco.”
“I don’t feel like that was his intention [to diss Megan],” 21 told the publication. “Remember when I said I was telling him not to hold back, people tried to twist that to make it seem like I was talking about that situation.”
21 added that the line was supposed to be a “joke bar” and not aimed to “say something about her.” Megan has not responded to 21’s explanation for the bar, nor has Drake spoken about it since the song dropped.
