Frazer Harrison/Getty ImagesThe American Music Awards are taking place tonight live at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, hosted by Wayne Brady. Bad Bunny leads the nominations this year, with eight nods, including a nomination for Artist of the Year. He could tie Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for the most awards in a single year should he win in all eight categories. Beyoncé, Drake and Taylor Swift each have six; Beyoncé and Swift will face off in three categories: Artist of The Year, Favorite Female Pop Artist and Favorite Pop Album. Adele, Harry Styles and The Weeknd each have five nominations. The hottest artists in the music industry are facing off for the awards, but what we're more concerned about is what they wore to the event Sunday (Nov. 20).
Take a look at those who dressed like winners and those who should've hired (or fired) their stylist:
Worst: Machine Gun Kelly

SOMEONE looks like they just watched the 'Hellraiser' remake...(and is trying for the style but can't quite pull it off).
Worst: Jimmie Allen

I don't know who told the country singer that leopard pants, a wide-brimmed hat and marching band jacket would be a good combo.
Worst: Meghan Trainor

Never a fan of hot pink except for on children, so the glittering edition is that much more an eyesore.
Worst: Reece Feldman

The actor sure knows how to piece together a bizarre look for red carpet events. This time, it's Victorian meets David Bowie.
Worst: Kodak Black

We love the color of Kodak's suit, but those black lapels and insane amount of chains make everything look too goofy.
Worst: Charlie Puth

Puth's banana cream suit with a white tank top underneath is giving friendly, neighborhood, mob boss vibes.
Worst: Anitta

Anitta's cutouts in her contrast gown don't offer anything refreshing or fashionable, rather than just showing off her assets.
Latto

Latto's mesh overlay makes her look like Thanksgiving leftovers: edgy edition.
Lauren Jauregui

The Fifth Harmony singer managed to pull off this printed gown, which is very hard not to compare to a curtain. However, the cut of the dress makes it work!
Gayle

The lace design of this taupe dress is a nice contrast to the more modern golden lining.
JID

Just like cats, we are very attracted to hanging strings.
Becky G

Becky G looks both sweet and edgy in this bow minidress and opera gloves.
Kali Uchis

We are loving Kalii Uchis' red feathery headpiece! It beautifully compliments her satin corset gown.
Kim Petras

The 'Unholy' singer was a stunner in this cool, sand-blasted denim ensemble. Can't be "unholy" without a cross necklace, Kim.
Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter is giving major pop star vibes in this Oscar de la Renta set!
Flo Milli

Flo Milli killed it in this dusty rose ensemble! That caged bra is everything, and her hair is too cute.
Best: Dove Cameron

The new artist of the year won another award: best-dressed artist at red carpet events consecutively. She never misses.
Best: Bebe Rexha

The "I'm Good" singer took the AMA style next-level with this sick red ensemble. We love her use of fabric: from the leather thigh highs, to her mesh opera gloves, to the texture of her ruched dress!
Best: Kelly Rowland

We never thought we'd put a leopard-print dress in our best-dressed rankings, but Kelly Rowland combined both sexiness and elegance with this look!
