Dare To Take An Overnight Ghost Tour On This Haunted Ship

The Queen Mary is notorious for being riddled with ghosts. Back in 2008, Time Magazine named the luxury ocean liner was voted #6 of the Top 10 Haunted Places.

This spooky ship is docked in Long Beach, California and is open to the public. Those daring enough can take a ghost tour of the location and can even stay in the haunted accommodations.

First setting sail in 1936, the boat was known for being a luxury ship, which allowed customers to leave their everyday world and be treated like royalty. Those who stayed on board back in the day could sip on booze in the cocktail rooms, eat at the dining halls, and go for a swim in the swimming pool.

When World War II hit, the boat was taken to battle and help to help troops. When the war was over, The Queen Mary was refurbished and set sail again in its original glory on July 21, 1947. The ship cruised throughout the after until October 31, 1967 where it was docked forever in Southern California.

Since then the ship has become a haunting experience. “The new Ghosts and Legends offers guests an entirely different level of the traditional haunted experience. We crafted terrifying original stories and characters based on the ship’s well-known paranormal tales and hot-spots onboard the Queen Mary to create a truly thrilling, immersive, and unique encounter,” revealed Brian Luallen, Director of Entertainment Events for The Queen Mary to Attractions Magazines.

Those who are brave enough to take the tour can expect to be guided throughout the ship and view a series of special effects. Attractions Magazine also notes that there are “tesla coil firing 3.4 million volt bolts of lightning, water effects, CGI ghosts, fog projections, and a hand-held ghost tracking tablet given to select guests on their tour.”

The best part is that guests only have a flashlight to guide them in the dark spaces. People who have taken the tour have noted seeing ghosts of people who died aboard the ship.

Tickets for The Queen Mary’s Ghost & Legends tour cost $15 for adults and run all year long.
