A lot went down at Kanye West's highly anticipated Donda album listening party in Chicago Thursday night.
The event took place at the Soldier Field in Chicago and had a multitude of interesting guests including DaBaby, Marilyn Manson, and estranged wife Kim Kardashian.
The listening party was originally supposed to start around 9pm local time but ended up starting closer to 11pm per TMZ. However, that wasn't a big deal for West fans as the next move Ye made definitely had everyone looking a tad confused.
Kanye opened the event with one of the album's most popular songs, "Jail" which previously featured a verse from a newly rekindled relationship with rap mogul Jay-Z, but instead of hearing Jay's rich vocals, the verse was replaced by one from DaBaby.
DaBaby has been in the midst of controversy since he made homophobic comments at Rolling Loud last month which caused him to be dropped from multiple festivals and also to lose some of his partnerships with brands.
But, to top it all off Ye also brought defamed rocker Marilyn Manson on stage who is currently being sued by multiple women for sexual assault.
Besides aligning himself with "canceled" artists, Ye also made sure this listening party would be unforgettable visually.
Ye set himself on fire on stage at the end of the event and thankfully it was just a stunt. The stage also had sentimental value as the stage was a replica of his childhood homehe shared with his late mom, Donda West, whom the album is named after.
