According to CBSLA, it is one of the largest naming rights deals ever, estimated at $700 million.
Kobe Bryant played his entire 20-year NBA career with the Lakers from 1996 to 2016 and brought the franchise five NBA championships. The Staples Center was opened a couple of years after the start of his career in 1999.
Vanessa Bryant commented on the name change on Instagram Story, saying that it really should be: "Forever known as 'The House That Kobe Built.'"
