Akon: Young Thug’s Career Will Be ‘Over’ If He Snitches In RICO Case
Akon believes that Young Thug’s career in rap would be over if he decides to snitch on anyone involving his current RICO case.
“The question is he willing to cooperate to save himself and his family,” Akon said in a recent interview with VladTV. “Is he willing to take that mud in the face… He has to decide whose life is more important — their life or the people he’s trying to impress… Being known to the world as a snitch is the biggest embarrassment to the world.”
“His career will be over,” he said. “It will be over. If he does do music, it ain’t gon’ be Hip Hop because Hip Hop they will cancel him. The good thing about him is he’s so talented this n—- could do pop music or country.
“Them white folks don’t know nothing about what’s going on in the streets. They don’t give a f—. So he would have to switch genres altogether to even have a chance, but Hip Hop forget it.”
However, Akon said that Thug’s main priority should be getting back to his family and worrying about his career after the fact.
“Life is about choices. You have to decide no one can make those choices for you,” Akon said. “If I had it my way, I would have prayed that he had guidance to where he was never in that position in the first place. But if you find yourself in a position like that, my advice is the only thing that f—ing matters is your family, period.”
Young Thug has six children: three sons and three daughters. Prior to his incarceration, the ATL rapper sparked romance rumors with R&B singer Mariah The Scientist when they got married in their music video “Walked In” which was released in January. Later he sent her a grand romantic gesture behind bars.
The “Aura” singer was greeted with rose petals and heart-shaped balloons all over her hotel room back in August that she shared in a since-deleted tweet. Some rose petals read, “Mrs. Sold Out Dates” referring to her Experimental Tour that took place over the summer.
Young Thug was denied bail for a third time back in August.
