Solange Shares ‘When I Get Home’ Details On Twitter

After sharing a montage of self-recorded cell phone videos, Solange took to Twitter to share details about the creation of her latest album, When I Get Home. 

Today (Mar. 25), the singer-songwriter re-tweeted tweets regarding her latest album and commented with tidbits about each track.

The "Binz" singer began sharing details about the transition of "Jerrod" into "Binz."

Solange tweeted about her adoration for rapper Gucci Mane and his wife, Keyshia Ka'oir. The singer said that Gucci Mane's music "been apart of some of the best most freeing moments of my life." She also said that when she was really sick and lost hope, the rapper's autobiography kept her going.

The Houston singer revealed that "Beltway" is her favorite song on the album.

A Twitter user mentioned the slight dip in Solange's voice on her song "Things I Imagined," and Solange explained that repetition has assisted her with reinforcing her truth. Hence the repetition on the song. Solange shared that by the 11th time she sang, "I saw things I imagined," she actually felt it.

Solange alluded that she's really about that life. She alluded that when she sings, "you can get it" in "Way to the Show," she means bullets. Hence the gun clicks and shots in the production of the track.

Out of all of the tracks on When I Get Home, Solange is most proud of her production on "Almeda."

The singer shared that when she first started recording When I Get Home, her body took a lot from her. She also said that she had to learn to accept a lot of things about herself.
