Remy Ma Makes Bail After Being Arrested Yesterday
Remy Ma has been released on $1,500 bail after being arrested yesterday (May 1).
Last month, reality TV star Brittney Taylor claimed that the Bronx rapper and Love & Hip Hop: New York star assaulted her during an event at Irving Plaza in New York City, as the Associated Press reports. That resulted in Remy Ma being arrested and charged with harassment and misdemeanor assault yesterday. Both Remy Ma and Taylor star on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: New York.
Taylor took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with a black eye (she has since deleted the photo) and said, “I didn’t wanna bring it to social media because it’s pretty embarrassing not a good look tbh.” The alleged incident was reported and allegedly over a planned assault on Remy Ma’s stepdaughter.
“This arrest demonstrates how serious this matter is—it is real life and not reality TV entertainment,” Taylor’s lawyer, Sanford Rubenstein, said in a statement. “The victim Brittney Taylor has confidence in our system of justice and will continue to fully cooperate with the authorities.”
The “Conceited” rapper is still on parole from a 2007 shooting that she served six years in prison for. Remy Ma was released in 2014 on supervised parole, which is scheduled to end on August 1, 2019. Remy Ma’s next court date is scheduled for May 24.
The Grammy-nominated artist’s lawyer, Dawn Florio, claimed that the allegations are false because Remy Ma was at home nursing her 4-month-old daughter at the time of the alleged attack.
“She’s going to fight this to the end,” Florio said.
