Usher’s $20 Million Herpes Lawsuit Dismissed, Settlement Reached
Usher’s $20 million herpes lawsuit has been dismissed.
Laura Helm, who accused the “Confessions” singer of exposing her to the STD filed to dismiss her lawsuit against the R&B crooner earlier this week, according to TMZ.
According to court documents, Helm filed to dismiss the case because the two “reached an amicable resolution.”
The dismissal was filed with prejudice, meaning that it can’t be filed again, which typically happens when a financial settlement has been reached.
In 2017, Helm sued Usher claiming that he exposed her to the herpes virus when the two had unprotected sex. The lawsuit was initially for $10million, then it increased to $20million for emotional damages.
A few months later, Helm filed to dismiss the case due to technical reasons, but she then refiled it in 2018.
