Nicki Minaj Says She’ll Be Married To Boyfriend Kenneth ‘Zoo’ Petty In ‘About 80 Days’
Rapper Nicki Minaj will soon go from barb to a bride.
On Monday, the Trinidadian rapper revealed that she and boyfriend Kenneth “Zoo” Petty will be married in “about 80 days,” reports People.
Minaj, 36, said that she and Petty “filed for the marriage license and we still had to pick it up and I was traveling, by the time I came back, we had to renew it again.”
“From that time, you have 90 days to get married. That was about a week ago, so now I have about 80 days,” Minaj shared.
The “Megatron” rapper also said that she and Petty will be celebrating their union with an intimate ceremony and will later plan a huge wedding because she has a lot on her plate right now.
“I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that I don’t want to do the big wedding now. We’ll do the big wedding later,” Minaj said.
“I’ll be married before my album comes out, but will have my wedding after the album comes out. Before the 90 days is over, yes, I will be married.”
The artist who has recently been the subject of criticism from Trina’s A&R represnetative and other industry pundits said that she’s jubilant regarding her upcoming nuptials.
“I’m very happy about that because my baby makes me so happy.”
Back in June, Minaj revealed that she and her beau had obtained a marriage license.
“We did get our marriage license,” Minaj said. “I think I have what I was striving for, just happiness. It was so hard to get to a happy place. Now that I’m there, I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything.”
The pair have been officially dating since December 2018, according to People. “He want me to be his wife- his MISSIS like SIPPI NOW,” Minaj captioned a few photos of the couple on Instagram.
Petty also showed off a new tattoo of Minaj’s given name, Onika, last December, and he also starred in the rapper’s video for her single “Megatron.”
The “Megatron” video features Minaj and Petty in a hot tub as the rapper spouts, “I f— him like I miss him / He just came out of prison.”
That particular lyric from Minaj is most likely in reference to Petty’s real life. The man who also goes by the name “Zoo,” is a registered sex offender in the state of New York and he also was previously incarcerated for manslaughter.
Some of Nicki Minaj’s barbs have criticized the rapper over dating Petty due to his criminal history. However, Minaj seems nonchalant about it.
“He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship. But go awf Internet. Y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life. Thank you boo,” Minaj once said replying to critics on Instagram.
Minaj has known her boyfriend since they were teenagers and the “Super Bass” rapper is “confident that he’s matured,” according to TMZ.
In a previous Instagram post of side by side photos of the pair when they were children, Minaj stated that she used to like Petty’s nose and that he used to like one of the rapper’s teeth that stuck out.
