Grammy Award-winning singer Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child is fed up with fans coming at her for actress Michelle Williams' speech at the 2019 Emmy Awards.

The "Heard A Word" singer has been receiving negative criticism since the 71st Emmys that aired Sunday night (Sept. 22) regarding a passionate speech that was delivered regarding gender and race equality in Hollywood, although she was never present at the prestigious ceremony.

In an Instagram Live video, the singer said that she doesn't understand why people can't see that she's a black woman and not the white actress who shares her namesake.

"Let's get one thing clear. How come when y'all are tagging and congratulating a person, do y'all see that I'm black when you go to my profile or when you search for Michelle Williams?" the singer said.

She then asserted that she is 100% black and she's not mixed with any other race.

"I am black so I'm trying to figure out why in the world am I getting cursed out in my comments for Michelle Williams' speech, which I thought was her truth. I thought it was awesome. I thought she was factual. I could be wrong," she said.
