Cardi B’s Asks For Album Cover Trial To Be Delayed
Cardi B recently became a mother of two, welcoming in her second child with rapper husband Offset on Sept. 4. Since the recent birth of he son, she is asking a judge to postpone the trial over her Gangsta Bitch cover art per TMZ.
The “WAP” rapper was sued over four years ago for her debut mixtape cover art, Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 1, where the rapper is drinking beer and a man with a detailed tattoo aligned across his back has his head between her legs.
The Bronx native is being sued by Kevin Brophy who claims he never gave Cardi permission to use the photo and never posed for it. Brophy is also claiming that the whole situation has “ruined his life” and that he will seek $5 million in damages per the outlet.
According to the legal documents obtained by TMZ, Cardi doesn’t believe she should be forced to travel to the West Coast next month because she needs to be with her newborn. The rapper also brings up that traveling and being exposed to public places brings the risk of catching COVID so she is asking to put the trial to be put on hold for at least 75 days.
The judge has not made a decision as of yet but if it lands in Cardi’s favor, Brophy will have to wait a little more to have his day in court.
