Nipsey Hussle To Receive Star On Hollywood Walk Of Fame
Nipsey Hussle will be posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame Monday, Aug. 15 on what would have been the late rapper’s 37th birthday. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce revealed Wednesday (Aug. 10) that the Crenshaw icon will be included as part of the 2022 class alongside Michael Strahan, Michael B. Jordan, the Black Eyed Peas, and more.
Karen Civil, a longtime friend of the late rapper, posted the announcement onto her Twitter writing, “Nipsey Hussle will receive a Star on the Walk Of Fame on August 15TH (His 37th Birthday) @ 10am PST [blue heart emoji] [marathon emoji].”

Hussle, born Airmiess Joseph Asghedom, was shot and killed in March of 2019 in front of his Los Angeles clothing store Marathon Clothing. Eric Holder was convicted of Nipsey’s death last month and has yet to be sentenced.
In addition to the star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, Hussle will also be honored by a Los Angeles Metro Rail station, which will be named after the late rapper. The L.A. Metro Rail announced that the brand new station will serve the Hyde Park K Line and is located in Nipsey Hussle Square.
“From Slauson and all the way to Vernon, you will see world-class pieces of art, celebrating the history and the legacy of African American people,” Los Angeles Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson said per HipHopDX. “Everybody who comes to L.A. and rides the train out of the airport is gonna see it. Is that alright?”
