Usher Has Unexpected Answer For Who He’d Like To Work With Next
Usher has worked with many talented people during his long career including Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, and more. However, during a recent interview with The Shade Room he revealed the celebrity who he would most like to collaborate with.
“You’ve worked with every single person you could think of, [and] you [have] even performed with the likes of Michael Jackson. Is there anyone you haven’t worked with?” the host asked.
Without hesitation, Usher answered: Martin Scorcese.
The “Superstar” crooner said he would like to work with the Oscar-winning director because: “as an actor and creative, it’s a lot of really incredible directors.” Usher believes that Scorsese can help him “spread his wings outside of music.”
While Usher is known for his killer vocals, being on screen is not new for the legend. He acted in films: The Faculty (1998), She’s All That (1999), In the Mix (2005), as well as had guest appearances in television shows Moesha and The Twilight Zone.
Later in the interview he addressed the possibility of a sequel to Confessions, which was released in 2004.
“That’s just a rumor, at this point,” he said. “But, who knows? When we get there, we’ll see.”
He continued: “We got time. There’s space and opportunity to think of new ideas. But the one that is 20 years old was a brilliant one. For every producer, writer, and creative that had anything to do with it, we celebrate 20 years of an album. I mean, most people don’t even have careers that last that long. So, to have an actual album that has stood the test of time? I appreciate my fans for continuing to love the music.”
Usher has been killing it lately with his Vegas residency, headlining J. Cole’s Dreamville, and his own Vegas festival Lovers & Friends. He also recently spoke out about how he would love to perform at the Super Bowl if given the opportunity.
“I’d be a fool to say no,” Usher told Access Hollywood. “Well, I mean, you know, things line up that we would all hope. You know, one day that moment will happen.”
“What I am thankful for is the fact that there’s even any conversation about me — period,” he told the Associated Press earlier this year. “I feel humbled that at this age and this juncture of my life, people still have to ask the question, (even) after all of the No. 1s that I’ve had and all the diamond (selling songs), that I have enough records to perform 15 minutes.”
He added: “If I were ever asked to perform at the Super Bowl, of course, I would definitely be into it.”
