Killer Mike has been accused of getting into a physical altercation with a bodyguard at the 2024 Grammys last night (Feb. 4). According to a report per TMZ, the gossip site states that Mike was arrested and charged with battery after pushing the security guard to the ground. A video posted to their website shows Mike getting physical with the bodyguard who was reportedly in his way. The two were seen outside of the Crypto.com Arena in the rain. The site reports that the rapper was booked for battery on a citizen's arrest.

Killer Mike Detained By Police At The 2024 Grammys

"At around 4 p.m., an individual was detained at [Crypto.com Arena] for a physical altercation," a LAPD spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter. "The individual is currently being questioned. I cannot confirm the identity of the individual until the person is charged. The investigation is ongoing."

A source told the publication that it is a "misdemeanor and has nothing to do with anything that happened today here inside the arena. Likely he will be released once it’s sorted. 'It’s a big nothing.'"

Moments before the altercation, the rapper was basking in his Grammy wins. Mike took home all three Grammys he was nominated in. He won Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for "Scientists and Engineers," the song featuring André 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane, as well as Best Rap Album for Michael.

Jay-Z Blasts The Grammys For Snubbing Beyoncé

Another viral moment at the Grammys was Jay-Z speaking out against the Grammys from their show stage. Jay-Z was honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. During his speech, he criticized the Grammys award system and defended Beyoncé for having the most Grammy wins, yet never winning Album of the Year.

"I don't want to embarrass this young lady. But she has more Grammys than anyone and has never won Album of the Year," Jay said about his wife Beyoncé. She won her 32nd Grammy last year. "So even by your own metrics, it doesn't work."

This is not the first time Jay-Z has criticized the Grammys. He boycotted the award show back in 1999 despite his album Hard Knock Life receiving best rap album.

Hip-Hop and R&B artists showed out at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards red carpet. From Victoria Monét to Tyla, these artists did not come to play. The award show airs live (8:00-11:30 PM ET/5:00-8:30 PM PT) on CBS and will stream on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the special airs).
