Cardi B has new music on the way and revealed that she has an iconic feature on her next single. The Bronx native revealed while in conversations with Million Dollaz Worth of Game that she has partnered up with Shakira.
"I always wanted to do a record with Shakira, and it’s like, wow, it landed on my lap," she says at the 48:48 mark. "It really landed on my lap, so I got a record coming out with her next week."
She then added that she first connected with Shakira during Paris Fashion Week. Cardi told Shakira that her sister Hennessy performed one of Shakira's songs in a first-grade talent show and won. The Bronx native told the Colombian superstar that "you’re a part of my life" because of that moment. The story must have gone over well because Cardi followed up by saying that her team reached out to her after the two initial meetings.
Cardi B Releases "Like What" and "Enough (Miami)"
Cardi has been on a roll with her releases of "Like What" and "Enough (Miami)." "Like What," was released earlier this month and samples Missy Elliott‘s 1999 classic "She’s A Bitch." At the end of the music video, directed by Offset, a message that reads, "This is just the beginning... stay tuned."
Last Friday, she dropped "Enough (Miami)."
"God gave it to me, so I gotta pop it/ I’m standing on business, I’m really about it/ Bitches be talkin’, mouth be bigger than they pockets/ Girl, tell me about it,” she rapped. "I’m litty, I’m pretty, I’m runnin’ the city/ I’m s------’ on bitches in every department/ This a-- heavy and thick like peanut butter and bitches jelly about it."
In the music video directed by Patience Harding, the Bronx native changes her outfit as she spits her braggadocio-filled bars.
The rapper also appears on Flo Milli's viral "Never Lose Me" with SZA.
At this time, the Shakira feature does not have a title or release date.
"I look like money, you could put my face on a dollar," Cardi B raps on "Bongos" featuring Megan Thee Stallion. The line rings true as she always serves a look on a red carpet or a fashion week event. While Cardi's rap career has been a wild ride, her fashion statements mimic that at every turn as well.
Cardi's Next "Money Move"
It's no secret that Cardi fans want her sophomore album. Her debut, Invasion of Privacy, took her from an internet personality and mixtape rapper to a history-making artist. Invasion of Privacy dropped back in 2018 and has songs such as "Money," "Drip," "I Like It" and her breakout hit"Bodak Yellow." She won the Best Rap Album award at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. She became the first female rapper to win the award as a solo artist.
Cardi recently dropped "Bongos" featuring Megan Thee Stallion which was her first song of 2023 as a lead artist. The song also was Megan's first song of the year. Previously, the rapper jumped on remixes such as Latto's "Put It On Da Floor Again" and FendiDa Rappa's "Point Me 2" this year.
It's been five years since the Invasion of Privacy so when asked what is the delay, the rapper got vulnerable on Instagram Live last year when answering the question.
"I’m just a mom and I do have anxiety," she said. "I’ve been having a lot of anxiety, because I know right after I drop my album, I have to go out on tour and I have bad separation anxiety from my kids."
In her latest interview with Vogue México y Latinoamérica she said that she's ready to continue making music.
"I’m not going to release any more collaborations, I’m going to put out my next solo single," she shared. "Right now, I’m working on the cover art and ideas for the next record because it’s definitely coming up."

Moving onto the body of her dress, it has both a 3D-printed top as well as a "puffer" material that expands to a gorgeous train adorned with a feathered trim.
