More Sexual Assault-Related Charges For R. Kelly
It’s not looking good for the Pied Piper. R. Kelly appeared in a Chicago federal court on Friday and US Magistrate Judge Sheila Finnegan delayed the decision to have him appear in New York to face charges until his arraignment on Tuesday. Steve Greenberg, Kelz’ lawyer said the singer should get bail for the charges he faces in Illinois and in New York and that he’s “not a flight risk.”
According to reports, over 20 sex tapes allegedly featuring R. Kelly and underage girls have surfaced after former employees reportedly handed them over to the feds.
The lawyer for Joycelyn Savage’s family said the investigation is being ran by the Northern District of Illinois and they reportedly uncovered over 20 videos of R. Kelly engaged in sexual acts with minors. The family’s lawyer also said the tapes feature multiple victims and that the ages of the victims were confirmed by multiple witnesses. Therefore the videos provided was the boost to help indict R. Kelly for child pornography and more. As we previously reported:
- An Illinois 13-count indictment released Friday accuses R. Kelly of one count of conspiracy to receive child pornography, two counts of receiving child pornography, four counts of producing child pornography, five counts of enticement of a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity, and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice.
- In the New York Indictment Kelly is being charged with sexual exploitation of a child, kidnapping, forced labor and violations of the Mann Act involving the coercion and transportation of women and girls in interstate commerce to engage in illegal sexual activity from 1991 to 2019. Kelly’s publicist, Darrell Johnson, says the charges are nothing new, he claims R. Kelly is innocent.
