When the rain is pouring down we need some rainy day throwback jams on our playlist.
We thought spring would be fully in session but we seemed to have been duped. It’s still very much April Showers. I’m not complaining though because I like rainy days. I’m allergic to all grass and weeds and especially with how bad the pollen gets, I’d rather get rained on then be covered in a fog of yellow dust. And after the record-setting heat we received last year I am more than accepting of cooler weather until we can’t have it anymore. So what songs should be on a rainy day playlist? What songs give you that exact feeling of when it rains? I don’t know about you but the word Rain has to be in the title. You can’t be just playing “Turn Down For What” and think about a cold rainy day.
More often times when it’s rainy and the clouds are out you are feeling a certain type of way. Sometimes sad, reflective or accepting. You could also be a Pluviophile [ ploo-vee-uh-fahyl ]: defined as a person who enjoys rain and rainy days, and who is fascinated by the sights, sounds, etc., of rain. It can be very relaxing to just stop and take a minute. We are always so on the go that a quiet rainy day inside can truly make you happier.
This list is comprised of the songs that give you all the emotions that the rain can represent. Again if you have rain in the title you already have a leg up but they have to truly express those rainy days good, sad and reflective feelings to make this week’s list. As always these are my official opinions but I’m open to what other songs are missing from his playlist.
