Nicki Minaj and Husband Sued By His Attempted Rape Victim, Claims Harassment
NEW YORK, NEW YORK - FEBRUARY 12: Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty attend the Marc Jacobs Fall 2020 runway show during New York Fashion Week on February 12, 2020 in New York City.
Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty are being sued by the woman he was convicted of trying to rape in 1995, who claims she’s being harassed per TMZ.
TMZ reports that the rapper has coerced the woman to change her story as well.
Jennifer Hough, was the victim in Petty’s 1995 conviction for first-degree attempted rape, the reason behind him having to be registered as a sex offender.Petty recently took a plea deal after not registering recently.
Hough claims in new legal docs, obtained by the outlet, that the Pettys “have directly and indirectly harassed her and threatened her to not speak about the incident, and she says they’ve inflicted emotional distress upon her as a result.”
According to the outlet, “Hough claims Minaj called her and offered to fly her and her family to L.A. in exchange for recanting her rape claims against Petty and helping him out.” Hough allegedly declined the offer and within days she and her family, “suffered an onslaught of harassing calls and unsolicited visits.”
Hough also claims that “Minaj had people reach out to Hough’s brother and offer a $500k payment in exchange for a statement recanting her rape allegations against Petty.”
The documents state that “Hough says this was followed by Minaj sending lawyers to her home to try to pressure her into recanting her story, and she began to panic and feel unsafe because she was being harassed at home.”That’s when Hough received one more offer of $20k and another that “threatened her safety.” This caused her to move last August and claims she still “lives in fear.”
Hough has apparently had enough and is suing the rapper and her husband for, “intentional infliction of emotional distress, harassment and witness intimidation on top of the Petty’s sexual assault related to the 1995 conviction.”
