Dr. Gerald Newton – Pt. 2 – 230319

Last week, in Part 1 of a two-part interview, we met Dr. Gerald Newton, The City of Fayetteville’s Development Services Director, Chief Planning & Development Officer has served our City, its residents and citizens, its elected leadership, its management and would-be developers since October 2017. He has over 30 years of executive steward leadership in several states – both on public teams and in private business experience – in and around local governments and communities doing transformative work, development, and creating growth by helping to solve complex real estate development and redevelopment, business, land use, and regulatory problems and issues.

Last week we focused on department schemes and residential development issues within Fayetteville – by area through annexation the second largest city in North Carolina.  This week we’ll focus on business development successes and challenges in Fayetteville – by population, the fifth largest city in the ninth most populous state in the United States.  We conducted our conversation in Beasley Media Group’s year-old studios in the area near Exit 49 of I-95.  Dr. Newton makes a reference or two to how business in our newly adopted neighborhood has expanded in the year since we moved our studios to Bureau Drive.  Dr Gerald Newton…what’s been going on in business development in Fayetteville?   (Interview)   ____________________
