Jeezy Reportedly Files For Divorce From Jeannie Mai
Jeezy has reportedly filed for divorce from Jeannie Mai. According to legal documents obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Jeezy (born Jay Wayne Jenkins) and Mai are already separated.
The filing states that they are “currently living in a bona fide state of separation” and that their marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.”
The couple met when Jeezy was a guest on The Real, which Mai hosted for eight seasons. The couple went public with their relationship in 2019 and got married two years later. In 2022, they welcomed their daughter Monaco together.
Mai told PEOPLE after they welcomed their daughter how important it was to blend their cultures. Mai is of Vietnamese descent and Jeezy is African-American.
Jeezy & Jeannie Mai’s Relationship
“When Jeezy and I met, we bonded over the similarities and differences of our cultures,” she told the publication at the time. “Now that we have a daughter, blending our worlds, it gives even more meaning to explore Vietnam together as a multicultural family.”
Jeezy is reportedly seeking joint legal custody of their daughter. He is also the father to three other children Jadarius Jenkins, Shyheim Jenkins, and daughter Amra Nor Jenkins from previous relationships.
Mai co-hosted The Real with Lonnie Love, Adrienne Bailon, and Tamera Mowry, for a majority of the series, was very adamant about not having children until she met Jeezy. She was previously married to Freddy Harteis from 2007-2018. The talk show host said she suffered a miscarriage one month before her and Jeezy’s wedding in March.
“I wondered if I was being punished. I wondered if I’d jinxed myself or cursed myself. My entire life, I never wanted children. When I say never, I’m talking a hard-stop never,” she shared with Women’s Health back in September 2021. She said that she changed her mind about that after falling in love with Jeezy.
Jeezy nor Mai have released statements about their divorce as of yet.
