JAY Z And Beyonce: How The Reigning King And Queen Became Billionaires
It’s pretty obvious that JAY Z and Beyonce have a ton of talent in many different avenues.
But when it comes to marketing themselves, they know exactly how to do so. These strengths are the main foundations of their wealth, and there’s a big reason why he landed the number 2 spot for Forbes richest hip-hop moguls, and she landed number 4 as one of the wealthiest women.
They Aren’t Extremely Accessible
Because JAY Z and Beyonce keep their lives pretty locked down and private, they make a great deal of money off tours, albums, and ways to connect to them. They aren’t social media intense, either. So when Beyonce posts a picture of herself pregnant, the world loses it’s mind. Though social media doesn’t gain them any money, when an entity of a celebrity isn’t accessible, it makes them all the more desirable.
Their Music Is Iconic, and Their Catalog Is Vast
With Beyonce’s legacy in both Destiny’s Child and her solo work, and the fact that JAY Z’s catalog stems back many years, the pair both were very established by the time they got together. And even when they began working together on specific singles, it only made their work cross to different platforms and different generations. Beyonce straddles the line between pop and urban, while JAY Z, of course, does hip-hop. Now they have become an entity that can hit multiple genres, and Beyonce can even be celebrated as a country-crossover for a song.
They Do More Than Just Music
JAY Z has been a writer, producer, business mogul, clothing line owner, and record label owner for the stem of his career. Not bad for a former drug dealer, eh? And Beyonce has acted in films and has her own fitness clothing line. All of these things bring in extra revenue.
They Give Back Through Activism
You can argue that doing this does not make them money either, but think about this for a second: You’re more willing to pay for concert tickets or buy albums from a person who is changing the world, aren’t you? I mean, this is the whole appeal that Taylor Swift used to have – the nicer or more “good” you are, the more people are willing to support you and your efforts. The difference is, JAY Z and Beyonce only do it for causes they are super passionate about, so it’s not overwhelming, or looking like they are grasping for “good press.”
They Were Willing To Expose The World To Their Flaws
When it came to Lemonade, the story Beyonce was telling opened up many wounds (or so it seemed), and JAY Z knew he would receive some backlash, as the visual album Lemonade alludes to JAY Z cheating on her. Beyonce poured pain of her own, as well as for her race, out on the ground for everyone to see – and JAY Z participated in it. With that in mind, everyone was obsessed with “Who could Becky with the good hair” be? And why would he do such a thing? And did she leave and take Blue Ivy? All of those questions seem to still not have been answered, but nobody cares because Lemonade was so influential! They marketed their pain and reconciliation, and even now, a year later, after Lemonade was released, she’s now offering a super expensive box set, one that many will gladly buy. That, my friends, is genius.
There can only be one IT Couple, and it is for sure Beyonce and JAY Z.
