Metro Boomin took to Instagram to give fans an update on Young Thug. The YSL boss was arrested in May 2022 and has been behind bars ever since while he awaits trial for the RICO charges for himself and his crew.

"Talked to [spider emoji] today and just know when he touchdown the whole [earth emoji] gon feel it [bicep flex emoji]," Metro wrote on his Instagram Story of a picture of he and Thugger.

This is not the first time recently the superstar producer has spoken about Thugger's condition since he has been incarcerated. He recently was a guest on The Streetz Iz Watching podcast, per HotNewHipHop, where he spoke about how Thugger is processing everything.

"I be talking to him, he’s blessed man," the HEROES & VILLAINS creator explained. "Anybody know Slime know he got a heart of gold but he got the heart of a warrior at the same time so like, he got his head up. And I pray for him every single day, even since everything first happened, I pray for him every single day.

"The day he got locked up he was supposed to be in the 'Superhero' video," Metro continued."He had a whole scene set up where he was gonna say the tag and do some other s---. I remember talking to him on the FaceTime, he was like, 'yeah I’m finna pull up.'"

Jury selection is still ongoing for Thugger's trial with more than 500 being requested by Judge Ural Glanville.

"Judge Glanville thinks we’ll need 500-600 jurors in the pool after hardships,” reporter Shaddi Abusaid tweeted earlier this week. "Of those, 'We’ll need to qualify close to 100 folks.' before strikes."

"More groups of jurors being brought in Feb. 24, March 17, April 28, and May 19," Abusaid added.

Young Thug has been denied bail three times following his arrest. He was previously facing up to 65 counts which have been reduced to eight charges per the publication. The eight charges include conspiracy to violate the R.I.C.O. act, two counts of participation in criminal street gang activity and possession of both marijuana and codeine with intent to distribute.

Young Thug, born Jefferey Lamar Williams, has made a name for himself with his distinct voice and contributions to trap music. Thug began to get mainstream success with his single 2014 singles "Stoner" and "Danny Glover." He later amassed more critical acclaim with the release of his 2015 mixtape Barter 6 and two installments of his Slime Season series. In 2019, he won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for his contributions to Childish Gambino's "This Is America." Young Thug released its debut studio album, So Much Fun in 2019. The album debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 and included the Billboard Hot 100 top-twenty singles "The London" and "Hot." Under the rapper's label YSL (Young Stoner Life) collective, he has also elevated the next generation of hip-hop in acts in rappers such as Gunna, Lil Duke, the late Lil Keed, and previously signed artist Lil Baby.

The director of the music video, Be El Be, was interviewed by The Fader at the time and spoke on how the track oozes self-confidence. "If [Young Thug is] his own butler, if he’s catching himself with himself, making love to himself, if he’s in the bathroom getting changed and it’s just him and him—it’s showing his best friend is himself," he said. "That self-esteem! He’s a very stylish young man, so I would say that the inside meaning of that is that he is his own best friend."
