Will Smith’s Alleged Move On Jennifer Lopez Almost Led To Diddy Brawl
Diddy allegedly did not like it when Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith pressed up on Jennifer Lopez at a party. And if a story from Diddy’s former bodyguard is to be believed, Diddy actually wanted to fight Will Smith because of it. The alleged incident happened at a birthday party for Ben Affleck that Matt Damon was throwing for him. Gene Deal, Diddy’s bodyguard at the time, said that the Smiths, Lopez, Affleck, Diddy, and Damon were on the same side of the room, and that’s when the Bad Boy Records founder stood up and crossed his arms after looking at both Will and Jada eyeing JLo.
“I go over towards him and he said to me, ‘Yo, I think Will and Jada are trying to scoop up Jennifer. I want you to stay close ’cause I’ma snuff him,'” Deal said in an interview with The Art of Dialogue.
Deal felt that it wouldn’t have been a good idea and said that Will would most likely “beat the s—” out of Diddy, possibly due to their size differences. Deal noted that Diddy could “scrap,” but could not imagine him defeating Will Smith in a fight. The former bodyguard added that if he moved slow enough when Diddy made his move, Will could get “two or three punches back in” before he could break it up.
It is unclear when the birthday party was given since Diddy and Lopez dated between late 1999 and 2001. Lopez has been married to Affleck since last year.
Will and Jada’s Current Relationship
Jada recently revealed that she and Will have been separated for seven years. She claimed that they were “exhausted with trying.”
“I think we were both stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be,” she told Today’s Hoda Kotb.
However, the couple still has a “deep love” for one another and is working on their marriage.
The couple got married in 1997, and they share two children together: son Jaden Smith and daughter Willow Smith. Will also has a son, Trey Smith, with his ex-wife Sheree Zampino. They got divorced in 1995 after three years of marriage.
