DDG does not play about his girlfriend Halle Bailey. Elijah Schaffer, host of Slightly Offensive with Elijah Schaffer, went viral for calling Bailey "ugly" and comparing her to E.T.

"When exactly did Hollywood become flooded with ugly people?" he wrote alongside a photo of Bailey. "I say this as a 100% certified ugly person myself. We recognize our own but she’s not even ugly hot."

He then followed up with a photo of E.T. from the 1982 movie, "The new Little Mermaid actress," he wrote.

While the above post refers Bailey as DDG's "wife," they are not married.

DDG Responds To Elijah Schaffer's Comments About Halle Bailey

DDG did not take Schaffer's comments lightly and responded by posting a photo of Schaffer and his late mother, "I’m smokin on yo dead a-- mama. That dumb bitch should’ve got a better doctor LMFAO."

He then uploaded a photo of himself smoking marijuana with a photo of Schaffer's mother on the end. "NGL this s--- gas," he captioned the photo.

Schaffer's mother died in 2020 from cancer.

Social Media Responds To Elijah Schaffer's Comments About Halle Bailey

DDG wasn't the only one to defend The Little Mermaid actress on social media. Fans also attacked Schaffer for his comments about the singer.

"calling halle bailey ugly is literally insane like something must be wrong with your vision that needs to be professionaly diagnosed she has a literal princess face like this is a face that people would go to war over," a fan wrote in defense of the actress.

"We don't care," a fan wrote in response to Schaffer's post. "You attacked that girl for no reason. You could have been talking about any other "ugly" white actress (the list is long) but you chose Halle, so you can't be mad at people who clap back. And yeah, no one said anything about you calling yourself ugly bc it's TRUE."

"Twitter jumping on Elijah for talking crazy about Halle is exactly the energy I love to see," a fan responded.

"The Black community sliding for Halle Bailey with the greatest "Yo Mama" in history is absolutely legendary," another fan wrote.

Halle Bailey has been gracefully paving her own way in Hollywood. One part of the Grammy-nominated duo Chloe X Halle, the two sisters have created their own solo careers in music, TV, and film.

What's Next For Halle Bailey?

Halle was on a roll last year starring in three feature films: Disney's The Little Mermaid, The Line, and The Color Purple,. She also began her solo career when she released her first solo single, "Angel." The song was nominated for Best R&B song at the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards.

Halle and her older sister Chloe Bailey made up the duo Chloe X Halle and as a duo, they've released three albums The Two Of Us (2017), The Kids Are Alright (2018), Ungodly Hour (2020). Their sophomore album earned the group two GRAMMY nominations for Best New Artist and Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 61st GRAMMY Awards. Ungodly Hour scored the sister duo five nominations for Best Traditional R&B Performance ("Wonder What She Thinks Of Me"), Best R&B Song ("Do It"), and Best Progressive R&B Album.

Last year, Halle said that her solo debut would "definitely" be released by the end of the year in her interview with Cosmopolitan. While that didn't come to fruition, we are hoping for Halle's solo EP or some new music with both sisters.

While a Grammy nod is always great, the singer said the best part of 2023 was welcoming her first child with boyfriend DDG.

"Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son," Bailey wrote on Instagram. "Welcome to the world my halo the world is desperate to know you."

When Halle is not in the recording studio, on set, or tending to her newborn, she is slaying the carpets. Take a look at seven of Halle's best red carpet moments below:

For the UK premiere of "The Little Mermaid," she embodied the sweet and gentleness of her character Ariel with this look. The singer wore a long white gown that had a mix of sequins and chiffon material. The gown also had a plunging neckline and cutouts on the side. However, what really took the look to the next level was her hair piece that was encrusted with crystals.
