Nicki Minaj Was Reportedly Arrested For Drugs in Amsterdam
Nicki Minaj was reportedly arrested for drugs in Amsterdam. In a video that Minaj posted to her social media accounts, she shows a man (apparently the pilot of her plane) explaining that all of her bags need to be searched. She wrote on Instagram, “They’ve been trying to stop me from coming to every show. They took my bags before I could see them. Put it on the plane. Now saying they’re waiting on customs. This is what it looks like when ppl are paid big money to try to sabotage a tour after all else failed. Everything they’ve done is illegal.”
The man in the video appears apologetic as he explains that a police officer told him that all of her luggage needed to be searched. He insinuates that the officer was angry that Minaj apparently filmed him earlier. The video ends with her agreeing to get out of her vehicle and allow the search.
She later took to X (formerly Twitter) to discuss the incident further, saying, “They’ve been trying everything they possibly can to TRY to stop this tour.”
She then said, “They took my luggage & when I asked where it is they said it’s on the plane. It couldn’t have been, I just pulled up.” She added, “I never gave them my bags. They’re refusing to let me see my own bags. I never gave them my bags. They’re refusing to let me see my own bags.”
Minaj also said, without elaborating, that “They’re being paid big money to try to sabotage my tour b/c soooooo many ppl are mad that it’s this successful & they can’t eat off me. They got caught stealing money from my travel/jets. Got fired. Got mad. Etc.”
She then retweeted a tweet that had a screengrab from a quora search, asking if police officers need permission to search bags in the United Kingdom. saying, “You can only be stopped and searched without reasonable grounds if it has been approved by a senior police officer.” It’s worth noting that the Netherlands is not part of the United Kingdom. Per Amsterdam City Rights, a website that says it “is a coalition of citizens and organizations uniting for the rights of undocumented people”: “Once there is a ‘reasonable suspicion of illegal residence’ the police is allowed to examine your personal belongings such as your bag, your phone and your housing accommodation.”
Minaj then said in a series of tweets, “This is how they plant things in your luggage. I’m on the jet alone. They try to make me book another jet every time. All b/c I fired mngmnt who I found out for years were adding on 30-50k on my jet & pocketing it. I fired a tour mngr recently who was doing the same thing & mad he got the boot. Their goal is to make me late, & to pocket 40k. This is Amsterdam. btw, where weed is legal. They’re trying to keep me from MANCHESTER.”
Then she added, “I’m still in my car. They took my luggage w/o consent. Lied & said it was on the jet.”
And then, “That’s why they’re all going bankrupt now.” She added, “now they said they found weed & that another group of ppl have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls. Keep in mind they took my bags without consent. My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yea & the pilot wants me to take my ig post down.”
A fan asked, “They found weed and have to weigh it in a country where it’s legal??!!! Amsterdam REALLY??????” She responded, “And the ppl who weigh it ain’t here. told you, it’s to try to make me late so that they can write negative stories. Jealousy is a disease. You know the rest.”
Another fan asked why the pilot was concerned about social media. Minaj said, “That was the pilot in the gray suit smiling from ear to ear chi. Now ask yourself why would that be his role? And why the plane was nowhere to be found when I arrived.”
Minaj noted, “They didn’t know I was planning for them just like they were planning for me. Me filming every single thing made them really mad.” And then, “My plane was scheduled to leave 2 hours ago.”
Shortly after, she said, “Ask yourself what takes 2 hours if they’ve searched everything already ? It’s a 45 min to an hour flight. So they’re prob trying to stall for about 4 hours.” And then, “Now they said I have to go 5 mins away to make a statement about my security to the police precinct.”
In a video that Minaj put on Instagram live (and which has been shared by fan accounts), Minaj is heard (she’s holding the camera so we don’t see her) discussing her apparent arrest with an Amsterdam police officer, who said tht she is being detained “because you’re carrying drugs.”
Seh responded, “I’m not carrying drugs.” She demanded, “I need a lawyer present” and the officer told her to get in a vehicle. The officer then appeared to say, “We’ll get [you to your] next show.” Minaj responded and said, “You’re talking about my show? What about it?”
