Sexyy Red Isn’t Endorsing A Presidential Candidate
Sexyy Red isn’t endorsing a Presidential candidate, making it clear on social media that her latest slogan isn’t tied to former President Donald Trump.
With the recent release of her third mixtape earlier this month, In Sexyy We Trust, the “Get It Sexyy” rapper, 26, unveiled a banner during recent festival performances that said, “Make America Sexyy Again,” a reference to Trump’s infamous “Make America Great Again” slogan. She also had a massive red MAGA hat on the stage, swapping out “great” for sexyy.”
Fans began to interpret it as support for the former president and wrote things like, “Time for the Sexyy Red supporters to turn on her over this, even though most probably don’t have a legit reason for disliking Trump.” Another person brought up her Missouri education and said, “it’s that Missouri education system that left all of us behind tbh.” A third criticized, “If sexxy red supports your political candidate you gotta re evaluate your beliefs.”
Sexyy Red Isn’t Endorsing Any Presidential Candidate
Sexyy clarified her stance on X (formerly Twitter). “It’s Sexyy Red 4 President [American flag emoji] I’m my own candidate I’m not endorsing anybody period [red lips kiss emoji],” Sexyy wrote. She followed that up with, “Make America Sexyy Again [American flag emoji].”
Some fans praised her for the clarification. “Thank you for standing ten toes and not changing for these people,” one person replied. Another wrote: “I’m happy you cleared that up.” A third said, “Yeah it’s you over trump any day [laughing emoji].”
However, some were not convinced. “you are……. but go off,” replied one user. “You’re such an embarrassment,” added another. “Be a mom first [laughing emojis],” another person retorted. “Okay Kanye go off [laughing emojis],” one person replied.
‘Trump, We Miss You’
Back in October in an interview on comedian Theo Von’s podcast, the St. Louis rapper told the host, “I like Trump. They support him in the hood. At first, I don’t think people was f—ing with him. They thought he was racist, saying little s—, and you know, against women. But once he started getting Black people out of jail and giving people that free money. Oh, baby, we love Trump. We need him back in office.” She added, “Trump, we miss you,” and “I love, Trump though, he funny to me.”
