On Saturday (Aug. 10), Kylie Jenner officially turned 27. She commemorated the occasion with a small but powerful party with close friends and family. In video and photo clips that she and attendees shared on social media from the event, Kylie is seen sporting a dressy black minidress featuring a halter neckline. She also shows off her birthday cake, which is stunning. The cake features white frosting with red flowers, green leaves and super-tall red candles. In the shots Kylie shared on socials, you can see attendees in the background.
In Kylie’s main birthday post, she shared some Polaroid photos from the party in a carousel on her Instagram timeline. She poked a bit of fun at her age and maturity in the post, too, writing the caption, “27 (basically 30) filled with love and so grateful. thank you God.”
Kris took to social media to share some photos and honor Kylie, too, writing, “Happy birthday to my beautiful baby girl @kyliejenner!!!!!! I fell in love with you the moment we met… it was love at first sight! I am so incredibly proud of you and thank God for you every single day. You are the most incredible mommy and I love watching you with your kids each and every day…so kind, gentle, calm, smart, creative, funny, compassionate, thoughtful, loving, generous, sensitive and strong.”
The birthday greetings continued, as Kim Kardashian also took to Instagram to share a beautiful message to Kylie and poked fun at her being “basically 30.” In the post, she wrote, “I want to thank the universe for blessing me with a sister as sweet as you. Your silliness, kindness and love are the greatest gifts I could ever ask for. Happy Birthday, with all my heart you private little soul you @kyliejenner. You’re basically 30 now.” Kendall echoed the 30 talking writing post where she said, “Guess who’s basically 30 now? @kyliejenner.”
So, why all the 30 talk? The Kardashians and Jenners have been doing this a while. When Kendall turned 28, Kylie wished her a happy 30th birthday. The “basically 30” talk has also been on The Kardashians, specifically in an episode when Kylie said Kendall was “basically 30,” when she was actually 27.
