Popular Meadow Lights Christmas Event in Benson Cancelled for 2020
Holiday light displays are starting to feel the impact of COVID-19 restrictions.
The always-popular Meadow Lights in Benson have been cancelled for 2020, according a Facebook post from the family.
“Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and to prevent spread of the virus we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Christmas light show and the opening of our candy store for the 2020 season,” the post said.
The Meadow Lights – Holiday Tour of Lights touts itself as the “largest and oldest Christmas light show in Eastern North Carolina,” and had been going on for more than 40 years.
