Latto’s 2023 Traffic Stop Footage Resurfaces: Fan Reactions
While having fans can be a blast, it does come with its share of hiccups for celebrities. One major issue is the occasional fan following you around in public, which can turn a simple outing into a stressful event. Because of this, many celebrities often find that no matter how hard they try to escape their past, the digital age keeps dragging it back into the spotlight. Recently, social media has been reacting to footage from 2023 showing rapper Latto being pulled over by police.
Raq Rarest published body cam footage of the rapper being stopped by police. According to the date on the video, the incident occurred on September 28, 2023, around 2 a.m. The poster captioned the video, “Educational police footage.”
In the footage, an officer walks up to Latto’s yellow vehicle and asks for her identification. Latto, whose real name is Alyssa Stephens, explains to the officer that she’s a rapper before briefly adding that she ran a red light because she was “trying to hurry up and get home.”
The rapper explained that she was celebrating a friend’s birthday at a club. Ultimately, the officer asked the rapper to take a breathalyzer test. Afterward, the officer presented Latto with a ticket for running a red light and encouraged her to be more careful while driving.
Fans reacted to the footage in the comment section on YouTube. “I can imagine the paranoia of stopping at red lights in the dead of night when you’re driving your fancy noticeable Lamborghini, but that’s when you opt for a driver in a Black Suburban to move stealth,” wrote YouTube user @derrickj127.
Another user @spicysauce4739 added, “ay respect to latto for getting pulled over and not acting like an entitled celebrity. she took the ticket and accepted responsibility like any of us normal folk would have.”
At this time, Latto hasn’t publicly responded or reacted to the resurfaced footage of her arrest.
Latto isn’t the only rapper whose traffic stop footage has made its way to social media. In April, footage went viral of GloRilla being pulled over by cops. In the video footage, she insisted that she was okay. However, the officer noted smelling substances on her and the vehicle.
Last month, Lil Baby made headlines when news surfaced of him being pulled over in 2020. The rapper was cited for having the windows in his vehicle tinted too dark. Similar to Latto, Lil Baby seemed to be concerned with fans recognizing his car. “Gotta have tints in Atlanta. These folks crazy,” he reportedly told the officer. “I’ll take a ticket before I have somebody follow me home.”
