Let me begin by saying what a tremendous blessing it is to live in the shadow of what I consider, the greatest military installations in the world – Fort Bragg and Pope Army Airfield. Years ago, I heard a military official say, “When the President dials 9-1-1, the phone rings at Fort Bragg.”
Also in my opinion, we are approaching the most solemn of all of the federal holidays, Memorial Day. May I encourage us both to please take a moment to remember and reflect on those heroes that gave their lives in service to this great nation.
As you are making plans for the beach, the lake, the backyard, the pool, the cookout, I have compiled a list of 10 great Memorial Day movies to watch. Most of these are films designed to honor the sacrifices our service members have made.
