Confederate Statue Comes Down In The Bull City

Emotions are running high after the violence over this past weekend in Charlottesville,Va. Monday protesters gathered in Durham to voice their outrage and forced a confederate statue to it’s knees. The video of the incident went viral but Durham County Sheriff Mike Andrews was not happy of the unwanted publicity and promised the criminal act will not go unpunished. “As the sheriff, I am not blind to the offensive conduct of some demonstrators nor will I ignore their criminal conduct,” the statement said. “With the help of video captured at the scene, my investigators are working to identify those responsible for the removal and vandalism of the statue.” The investigation into this incident is still ongoing.
