A$AP Rocky’s Alleged Attacker Will Not Be Charged
Although Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky remains behind bars in Sweden, his alleged attacker will not be charged.
The man in question for allegedly harassing and attacking A$AP Rocky and his entourage will not be prosecuted for any crime regarding his involvement in a street brawl that took place in Stockholm, reports TMZ.
This news comes despite the fact that he allegedly harassed, incited the violence, and followed A$AP Rocky and his crew prior to them retaliating against the male who was also accused of harassing someone else.
Swedish prosecutors have come to the conclusion that the man who allegedly harassed the “Fashion Killa” rapper acted in self-defense when he attacked Rocky’s bodyguard, following being lifted by his neck and pushed.
The initial video that A$AP Rocky shared on his Instagram account doesn’t show any physical altercation. However, prosecutors came to that conclusion, stating that when the man threw his headphones at the rapper’s security, which cut his head, he was defending himself.

A$AP Rocky can be seen and heard attempting to diffuse the situation, in the first video that she posted on his IG account. The male in question was never taken into police custody during the investigation, although Rocky was arrested the day after the incident took place.
The rapper remains behind bars two and a half weeks later as prosecutors deliberate over whether they should charge the rapper, whose given name is Rakim Mayers, with aggravated assault.
If the Harlem rapper is convicted, he faces six years in Swedish prison. Formal charges are expected to come down on Thursday, July 25. According to Rap-Up, prosecutors and the judge both believe that Rocky is a flight risk.
He will continue to be held in detention if charges are filed. On Friday, July 20 President Donald Trump tweeted that he had “a very good” phone call with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven who assured him that A$AP Rocky would “be treated fairly.” Lofven has also said that A$AP Rocky would not get special treatment.
Just had a very good call with @SwedishPM Stefan Löfven who assured me that American citizen A$AP Rocky will be treated fairly. Likewise, I assured him that A$AP was not a flight risk and offered to personally vouch for his bail, or an alternative....

However, Lofven stated that the Swedish judicial system is independent.“I understand that President Trump has a personal interest in the case….He has expressed the desire for a conversation with me, which is certainly positive,” said Löfven. “I will explain that the Swedish judicial system is independent. In Sweden, everyone is equal before the law, and this includes visitors from other countries.”
A$AP Rocky’s arrest has caused a myriad of various conversations online regarding the role of race and how it has contributed to this situation. Rapper G-Eazy who is white recently spoke out regarding a time when he got arrested in Sweden for assault and cocaine possession. Unlike, A$AP Rocky who is black, G-Eazy only spent a day and a half in jail.
According to TMZ, Rocky has made it clear to everyone who has been in communication with the rapper that he doesn’t think that his situation has anything to do with his race.
