Lifetime Announces Followup To ‘Surviving R. Kelly’
Lifetime is currently filming a four-hour follow-up to the networks’ Emmy-nominated docuseries Surviving R. Kelly.
On Tuesday, representatives from Lifetime announced that Surviving R. Kelly: The Aftermath is expected to include interviews with more accusers and psychologists, reports the Chicago Tribune.
A premiere date has yet to be announced for the follow-up that includes interviews that took place in R. Kelly’s hometown, Chicago. The docuseries is executive produced by filmmaker and writer dream hampton.
Earlier this month, federal indictments against R. Kelly were made public in New York and Chicago. The embattled singer and songwriter and his inner circle have been accused of a scheme to sexually exploit and young girls and of hiding it.
The “I Believe I Can Fly” singer is currently being held without bond at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago. The 52-year-old will be brought to New York for a hearing on August 2 regarding racketeering charges. He has denied all of the charges that have been made against him.
