Suge Knight Gives Ray J The Rights To His Life Story
Suge Knight, the infamous man who started Death Row Records has recently entrusted Ray J to tell his story for him while he’s currently behind bars.
Knight reportedly signed over the rights to his life story with Ray, who he’s been friends with for decades, according to TMZ. Ray J now has the green light to use Knight’s likeness in film, music, and other types of media.
A documentary about Knight’s life and Death Row Records is currently being developed, in addition to a project about the late Tupac Shakur.
“Ray J is just not just a friend of mine. That’s a real brother. That’s family and I respect Ray J. That’s why I chose him as one of the guys to deal with the music side and the future of Death Row Records,” Knight said on Monday (Oct. 21) during a phone call from his state prison in San Diego.
Knight has also tapped Nick Cannon to write his biography. “I know he has all the potential and he is a great writer,” Knight said.
Knight is currently serving time for about 10 years. Last year, the former music executive struck a 28-year plea deal in his murder case but also obtained credit for time served. Knight could possibly be released in a little more than a decade.
