Brandy Shares Old Interview Where She Reveals Her Favorite Monica Song
Fans of both Brandy and Monica have taken to social media to share their excitement about the two R&B veterans forthcoming Verzuz celebration with each other.
On Thursday (Aug. 27), Brandy took to Instagram and shared an old interview where she and Monica shared their favorite songs with each other.
During the interview, Brandy shared that her favorite song of Monica’s is “Angel,” which appeared on the singer’s 1995 debut release, Miss Thang.
“It’s so hard to choose… My favorite song that I always sing is ‘Angel’ from your first album,” Brandy said during the interview.
“I don’ know if you remember but I used to sing that song all the time.”
“Actually, I don’t even remember the words to that song,” Monica revealed.
“You shouldn’t be saying that on camera,” Brandy teased her. “Well, I was 13. I should get a pass. I recorded my first album when I was 12. When it dropped, I was 13,” Monica said.
Brandy then spilled a few beans, recalling a few instances when Monica also forgot the lyrics to “The Boy Is Mine,” when the two artists performed the song previously.
Monica was then asked, “What’s your favorite Brandy song?” and she replied, “Have You Ever.” “No, are you serious?” Brandy asked.
“And I will have to say too. I love ‘Never Say Never,’ Monica continued before the two playfully bickered about each other’s song choices.
