Quavo Pays Tribute To Takeoff In New Song ‘Without You’
Quavo has been keeping a low profile ever since the tragic death of his nephew and group mate Takeoff. Takeoff (born Kirsnick Khari Ball) was shot and killed in Houston on Nov. 1. Last night (Jan. 4), the head Huncho released his first single since Takeoff’s death titled “Without You” in honor of the Migos rapper’s passing.
“Tears rollin’ down my eyes/ Can’t tell you how many times I cried/ Days ain’t the same without you/ I don’t know if I’m the same without you,” Quavo raps.
The music video finds Quavo in the studio, emotionally listening to the song being played over a solemn beat. The video ends with the lyrics from the song forming a rocket ship taking off with the symbol from the pair’s latest album Only Built for Infinity Links.
Takeoff and Quavo released their debut album Only Built for Infinity Links under the monikers “Unc & Phew” less than a month before Takeoff’s death.
This is the second time that Quavo has openly spoke on Takeoff’s death. In a three-page tribute, Qauvo said in part that his nephew had a “real passion” for music and that he was the one that created the triplet flow which we know as the Migos. “I am proud to be ya uncle. I’m proud we saw the world and done things we couldn’t ever imagine together,” Quavo wrote.
