SZA Says ‘SOS’ Deluxe Will Have 10 Additional Tracks
SZA says more SOS is on the way. She revealed to Billboard that the deluxe edition of her LP will include 10 additional tracks. The New Jersey native was crowned the publication’s Woman Of The Year. SZA noted that she was awestruck by the amount of love SOS has received.
“Right now, I just have extreme gratitude because I swear to God, I never thought I’d be No. 1 for even a week, let alone seven,” the singer said.
SZA’s sophomore project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 where it has remained since its December inception. SOS has already spent nine nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 and is looking at its 10th week at the top spot for next week. SZA made history as the first woman in seven years to keep the stop spot since Adele’s 25 ran for 10 non-consecutive weeks, according to the publication. The album is already certified platinum by the RIAA with several singles already with platinum and gold plaques, including “Good Day,” “Kill Bill,” “I Hate U,” “Blind,” “Shirt,” and “Low.” However, the R&B star is not done quite yet. She revealed to Billboard that her deluxe version is “soon” to be released with 10 additional tracks.
“After I do the deluxe, I’m hoping to be able to accept that this chapter is done,” SZA said. “I’m looking forward to actually feeling proud of myself and not just smiling and nodding at accolades but really feeling it internally and knowing that I’m good enough.”
She added: “I guess I need to stop trying to figure out what it means and start realizing and living in what it is.”
After her appearance as a presenter for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, SZA went to Instagram to take in all of her success from SOS thus far as she shared photos of her RIAA certifications.
“Last night was the first time I had a great time at an award show ! (Prolly cause I ain’t have to do s— but cheer my friends on + announce ppl I Stan lmao ),” she captioned her post. “My team also surprised me w a GANG OF PLATINUM and gold plaques for SOS can’t believe the album is already eligible for double platinum. LOVE TO EVERYBODY THAT GOT ME HERE AND CONTINUES TO LIFT ME UP. I love you.”
An official release date for the deluxe edition of SOS has yet to be announced.
