Latto Faces Backlash For Alleged Racist Tweets Amid Jungkook Collab
Latto has been facing backlash for Tweeting anti-Asian sentiments. This comes after her collaboration with Korean pop singer Jungkook from BTS drops today. None of the alleged tweets are still on her account. But, a Nicki Minaj fan account has screenshots of the 777 rapper’s old tweets, which she uploaded to Twitter.
“Latto hates Asian people and has never hidden it, she hates Asian people and I’m sad that she is to be featured by a very respected Asian artist. Army, choose your fighter wisely,” the account wrote.
The alleged tweets appear to have Latto writing derogatory and capitalizing on harmful stereotypes of people of Asian descent.
Latto has not addressed these alleged tweets as of yet.
As for the Atlanta rapper’s collab with Jungkook, “Seven” dropped today.
In the music video, a natural disaster takes place but it doesn’t stop Jungkook from telling his leading lady that pleasing her is his top priority.
“You wrap around me and you give me life,” the BTS member sings. “And that’s why night after night / I’ll be loving you right.”
Latto comes in for her feature at Jungkook’s “funeral” and echoes his message that her mind is also on satisfying her partner “every hour, every minute, every second.”
