The National Wrestling Alliance Has Signed a TV Deal with the CW Network
Move over WWE and AEW, there’s a new player in the wrestling world, as the National Wrestling Alliance has a new TV deal.
Wrestling is becoming popular again, maybe not to the extent of the late 90s but there’s certainly interest in the sport. The biggest companies are World Wrestling Entertainment and All Elite Wrestling in the 1 and 2 spots respectively.
Depending on what you watch will determine the rest of the Top 5 between Impact, the NWA, Ring Of Honor, and Major League Wrestling and possibly some other companies.
One of the biggest factors is audience, and to command a big audience you need to be visible and the best way is by having your company on TV. Lots of wrestling companies have their content on platforms like Youtube or a number of different websites and streaming services and while that is great and with the change in technology and the ease of watching almost anything having a TV show on a reputable station is huge.
WWE has Fox and USA, AEW has TNT and TBS, Impact wrestling is on AXS, and now the NWA is on the CW Network. This is huge for the brand owned by Billy Corgan lead singer of the Smashing Pumpkins.
This allows the NWA to expand their reach and possibly reach the popularity that the NWA had back in the 80s. For full details, read here.
