Chlöe Bailey & Halle Bailey To Reunite For New Music
Chlöe X Halle are reuninting. The Bailey sisters will be coming out with new music “soon,” according to Chlöe. On Saturday (Jan. 20), the “Have Mercy” singer jumped on TikTok livestream and told her fans that they could expect music from the sisters in the near future. A fan specifically asked Chlöe when they should expect some new music from them, and she kept it vague by answering, “soon.”
Chlöe X Halle got their start on YouTube singing covers of popular songs (which Chlöe still does from time to time on Instagram) and was later signed to Beyoncé’s Parkwood label. As a duo, they’ve released three albums The Two Of Us (2017), The Kids Are Alright (2018), Ungodly Hour (2020). Their sophomore album earned the group two GRAMMY nominations for Best New Artist and Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 61st GRAMMY Awards. Ungodly Hour scored the sister duo five nominations for Best Traditional R&B Performance (“Wonder What She Thinks Of Me”), Best R&B Song (“Do It”), and Best Progressive R&B Album.
Chlöe Bailey and Halle Bailey Launch Solo Careers
Both sisters began their separate careers in the past two years. In 2022, Chlöe released “Have Mercy” her first single without her younger sister. She released her first solo full-length project in 2023 called In Pieces. The album had guest appearances from Future, Chris Brown, and Missy Elliott. It debuted and peaked at No. 119 on the Billboard 200.
As for Halle, she has been focusing on acting after landing Disney’s The Little Mermaid, The Line, and The Color Purple, which all premiered last year. She did, however, give fans her first solo single, “Angel.” The song is nominated for Best R&B song at the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards. Last year, Halle said that her solo debut would “definitely” be released by the end of the year in her interview with Cosmopolitan. While that didn’t come to fruition, we are hoping for Halle’s solo EP or some new music with both sisters.
