He broke the internet with his Katt Williams and then he followed it up with his Kountry Wayne interview while simultaneously doing the NightCap podcast with Ocho Cinco and Gilbert Arenas. There’s nothing like saying “I Love You” for the first time. But what happens when they don’t say it back?

Ah, unrequited love! It’s already pretty scary to go out on a limb and gather up your nerve to spill your heart’s deepest desires to its intended target. But when it gets kicked back, it can be devastating, however, Reddit users are sharing some of the more humorous rejections they’ve gotten.

According to WebMd, unrequited love (which is obviously a medical condition) is defined as “When you develop romantic feelings for another person who doesn’t feel them back, it’s unrequited love. Whether you’re longing for your crush to make a move or you’ve told them how you feel and are rejected, this kind of love remains one-sided. If the other person doesn’t have romantic feelings like you do, there are ways to move forward. At the same time, if someone expresses love for you that you can’t return, there are ways to address it.”

Hey, it happens to the best of us and in this digital age of instant social media posting, people are coming together to share the worst responses to telling another of their feelings. Check some of the most unfortunate responses to “I Love You.”

Love is complex and if this has happened to you, take heart. It’s not the end of the world, even if it feels like it. When I started dating, post-divorce, a wise friend of mine told me “You’re not going to be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s ok.”
