Lizzo Brings The House Down With BET Award Performance Of ‘Truth Hurts’
On Sunday night, at the 19th annual BET Awards, Lizzo reminded everyone just why she is “100 percent that b*tch.”
The buzzing artist performed her single, “Truth Hurts,” in a wedding dress with a full veil and diamond encrusted black sunglasses while standing on top of a huge wedding cake, acting as the bride cake topper.
“BET, do you want some cake?” Lizzo asked the crowd before starting her performance. Her dancers surrounded her in all white lace and spandex outfits holding bouquets of flowers.
After performing her first verse, Lizzo came down from the huge cake and made her way closer to the audience while Sister Nancy’s most famous reggae hit “Bam, Bam” was blended into “Truth Hurts,” before Lizzo received a little crowd participation to finish her lyrics.
Shortly after, Lizzo turned her back to give the audience some booty shaking reminiscent of Beyonce’s “uh oh” butt-popping choreography from her “Crazy In Love ” video, while surprisingly pulling out her flute and continuing to play it while dancing.
Gospel singer, Erica Campbell’s daughter, Krista was visibly seen in the audience dancing and singing along. Lizzo also received a standing ovation from the audience that included, Rihanna, T.I., and Tyler Perry.
