Trina Co-Signs Megan Thee Stallion: ‘She’s The Captain Of The Boat’
Veteran rapper Trina recently sat down with Genius to share her thoughts on the fresh faces of Southern rap for their latest episode of ‘The Cosign.’
During the episode, Trina, who just recently dropped her new album, The One on June 21, gave hip-hop newcomer Megan Thee Stallion her co-sign.
“Very sexy. Very hot. Very much it. Very much feeling herself and her vibe. Confidence. Confidence is the key in this game. You have to be confident if you’re a woman,” Trina said while watching Megan’s video for her single “Realer.”
Not only did the “BAPS” rapper compliment Hot Girl Meg on her music, but she also said that she loves how Megan is environmentally conscious.
“I love that she’s eco-friendly. I love that she’s out here with the whole make sure we keep the beach and everything clean because, hello, we go to the beach. We go out. It’s trash, it’s everything. It’s nasty. All of that stuff shows a different side of her,” Trina explained.
Earlier this year, Megan Thee Stallion launched her inaugural “hottie” beach clean up effort in California, and she also announced that she’s taking her eco-friendly efforts to her hometown of Houston soon.
During the episode, Trina touched on the fact that women rappers always have to prove themselves against their male counterparts, and she said that Megan has done just that.
“She’s hotter than some of the guys that’s out right now. Honestly, let’s be very real,” Trina said.
Trina also had an opportunity to judge other new and upcoming artists during the episode such as Da Baby, Danielle Cohn, NLE Choppa, and City Girls, among others.
Although the Miami rapper really had nothing negative to say about any of the rappers, she particularly favored Megan and the City Girls who are also from Miami.
Trina admitted to being biased towards the City Girls because she was friends with Yung Miami’s mother when she was pregnant with the rapper.
“I love the City Girls, obviously. of course,” Trina said.
Trina also applauded Yung Miami for holding down the City Girls while JT is incarcerated.
During the end of the segment where the “Look Back At Me” rapper summarized her thoughts, she stated that Megan gets nothing but love from her, and she also said that overall City Girls gets her “co-sign.”
“Megan Thee Stallion, I love her. She gets all ups from me. She’s the captain of the boat,” Trina said excitedly.
