Soulja Boy Receives Early Release From Jail
Soulja Boy is reportedly a free man.
The “Crank That” rapper was released from jail on Sunday morning (July 14) due to his jail time expiring, reports Rap-Up. He was released before 2 a.m. PST.
Soulja Boy was released 146 days early as a result of good behavior, overcrowding, and time served, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department told TMZ.
The rapper and entrepreneur was originally sentenced to 240 days in jail and 265 days of community service for violating his probation back in April.
According to the judge, Soulja Boy failed to do his court-ordered community service and the rapper also conspired to falsify evidence that he completed it.
Law enforcement raided the rapper’s home and found ammunition while investigating a claim that an ex-girlfriend made, stating that the rapper had kidnapped her, in February.
However, Soulja’s kidnapping case was rejected by prosecutors while he was in jail.
Due to insufficient evidence, the Ventura County District Attorney declined to file charges against the “Pretty Boy Swag” rapper.
Soulja was accused of holding the alleged victim hostage for six hours, but the case was dropped following a police investigation that didn’t prove what was alleged.
