For the past 18 days we have been in a gratitude journey inspired by Rhonda Byrne’s The Magic. I adore the practices in this book and encourage you to start your own gratitude journey.
Studies have shown that it only takes between 18-21 days to form a habit and a habit of gratitude is definitely worth forming.
On day 18 I feel and see the changes in my life unfolding in amazing ways. Sometimes we get so busy in the day-to-day business of survival that we forget to take notice of the abundance of blessings in our lives. Your life is filled with amazing people, places, and moments.
Today I challenge you to begin taking notice! Start with a list of at least 10 things you are grateful for.
I’ll share mine to start:
- This beautiful sky is filled with huge fluffy clouds that never seem to end.
- My son growing into a mature emotionally secure young man
- My charismatic daughter who makes the entire room fall in love with her eternal sunshine
- My hour-long commute to and from work, gives me time to show prep and decompress
- Growing up to do exactly what I wanted to do as a child every day
- Having bosses and colleagues that are genuine and supportive
- My person, loving me (flaws and all) while healing right along with me
- My family is a support system that allows me to follow my dreams
- My career growth and the potential that others are helping me to uncover in myself
- My friends who are always there when I need them
- My supportive listeners, viewers, and followers who make me want to cry when I am blessed to meet them in real life
I know that was 11, but I am on day 18 of the gratitude challenge. At this point I find myself being constantly grateful. You will too! Let me know how your journey is going in my inbox!
Remember that these steps don’t need to be followed in a particular order, and you can adopt some of your own practices into this process. The most important part is that you start the practice and use it daily. If you miss a day, just start again right there where you are at that moment. Be grateful that you remembered.
