So this afternoon my son asks me “Mom are the people who ordered free DoorDash going to jail.” I told him that I doubt it, but some may end up being having chargebacks after the DoorDash glitch.

He then asked if I was proud of him for not engaging when his friends notified him of the glitch? DoorDash has since released an official statement, which hopefully won’t be followed by official charges for some of y’all!

In case you missed it, DoorDash had a glitch on Thursday, and a bunch of people were able to get orders for free, by putting in payment methods that wouldn’t actually work.

“On the evening of July 7th DoorDash experienced a payment processing issue, and as a result, some users were able to check out without an authorized form of payment for a short period of time,” a DoorDash spokesperson said in a press release. “We were subsequently notified that some users were placing fraudulent orders, and we immediately corrected the issue. We’re actively canceling fraudulent orders, and are in touch with merchants impacted to ensure they are compensated for any unauthorized orders they may have received,”

I told my son yes I was proud, but I’m not sure if that’s true considering how much money he spends with DoorDash weekly. If you missed the the glitch, it happened on Thursday night and the best part of messiness will always be Twitter user responses! Dear DoorDash, the internet will always win.
