‘Bridgerton’ Star Regé-Jean Page Cast In Netflix’s Biggest-Budget Film
Netflix’s upcoming feature film, The Gray Man, has the biggest budget the streaming service has ever had, with a budget upward of $200 million, according to Deadline. And looking at the cast, it’s easy to see where that money is going.
Billy Bob Thornton, Alfre Woodard and Bridgerton breakout star Regé-Jean Page have joined the long list of cast members. The action thriller additionally stars Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana De Armas, Wagner Moura, Jessica Henwick, Dhanush and Julia Butters.
31-year-old Page has gained lots of popularity these days as the dreamy Duke of Hastings in the Netflix series Bridgerton. Along with this project, Page will also be starring in the highly-anticipated film Dungeons & Dragons, acting alongside Hugh Grant and Michelle Rodriguez in the action-adventure movie .
The Gray Man is based on Mark Greaney’s best-selling novel of the same name, which introduced the Gray Man, a freelance assassin and former CIA operative named Court Gentry, played by Gosling.
The Gray Man is a deadly duel between killers as Gentry is hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), a former cohort of Gentry’s at the CIA. The Gray Man turned into a bestselling book series, and the expectation is that Gosling will continue in multiple installments, Deadline reports. The Russos have been quietly developing the project for years.
Per the outlet, Anthony Russo described the upcoming movie as, “a real mano a mano between those two great actors who represent two different versions of the CIA, in what it can be, and what it can do. For those who were fans of Captain America: Winter Soldier, this is us moving into that territory in more of a real-world setting. That’s what this movie really means for us.”
This will be the Joe and Anthony Russo’s first blockbuster they have directed since setting the all-time global box office record with Avengers: Endgame two years ago. Per Box Office Mojo, Endgame has earned more than $2.7 billion dollars.
Production for The Gray Man will reportedly start this month in Los Angeles.
