With Dreamville Festival set for this weekend, J. Cole dropped a big surprise with a new, unannounced album, "Might Delete Later."
The album from the Fayetteville native dropped at midnight, and features 12 tracks, including a response of sorts to the recent Kendrick Lamar diss track. The final song on the album is "7 Minute Drill"
In the song, he calls out Lamar with some pretty clear thoughts on his career progression:
He still doing shows but fell off like 'The Simpsons
Your first shit was classic, your last shit was tragic
Your second shit put n-sto sleep but they gassed it
Your third shit was massive and that was your prime
I was trailing right behind and I just now hit mine.
There are also a couple of good Fayetteville references in the song, including a reference to Fayetteville Public Works Commission in the first line of the chorus:
Light work like it's PWC
He also mentions he "came up in the Ville, so I'm good when it's tension" in the first verse, and
Aside from the response track, there are a number of special appearances on the Might Delete Later album, including Ari Lennox, Cam'Ron, Central Cee, Bas and Gucci Mane. Could that mean we have some additional surprises in store for the stage this weekend in Raleigh?
It's the first album for Cole since The Off-Season in 2021. Here's the tracklist from Might Delete Later:

Dreamville Festival 2024 in Raleigh: Your Complete Guide – Schedule, Parking and More
Dreamville Festival 2024 is this weekend - April 6 and 7 - in Raleigh, at Dorothea Dix Park. So it's time to get everyone ready with everything you need to know about the festival.
Fayetteville native J. Cole and his Dreamville record label are putting on the fourth installment of the event, with perfect weather and record crowds expected.
We'll be updating this guide all week as more information comes out, so check back for all the information you need to make your Dreamville Festival 2024 complete.
Dreamville Festival 2024 - The History
Cole started the event way back in 2018, but found itself delayed because of hurricanes. That moved the event into the spring of 2019, and things went pretty well.
Problems came again the next year, as the festival had to be canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. That led to the second installment not coming until the spring of 2022. The 2023 version saw weather delays, but ended up going great.
But we are back with no delays for the fourth version, and Cole has a superstar lineup set to wow people.
Let's take a look at all things Dreamville Festival 2024, including where to park, who's playing, what to expect, and more.
The Music
You can't have a music festival without music. So here's a look at who is playing both days of the festival. There was a change to the lineup this week, when Chris Brown was replaced by 50 Cent.
